Hyper Island was only one year old when I started my journey in digital marketing communications. This makes me a digital veteran.

I got my first taste of digital in 1997, when my then ATL agency won its very first digital account. These were the days when agencies from all avenues were jumping onto the digital bandwagon with great enthusiasm yet little knowledge! The prevailing entrepreunarial spirit and forward-thinking were contagious and galvanising at the same time. I haven’t looked back since.

Over the years, I was fortunate enough to work for some of the most innovative and award winning digital marketing communications agencies – first in the UK and more recently in Australia. These include Agency Republic, Good Technology (now VML) and AKQA in London, UK and Digital Arts Network (formerly Tequila) in Sydney, Australia.

And so everything I have learnt has been from the best industry talent – here and there. That very talent combined with the dynamism of the digital landscape have kept my passion for the creative industries going for over 10 years now.

In that time, I have mastered the art of producing great digital work for a wide range of local and international clients across multiple platforms, whilst constantly having to rethink how best to do this.

More recently, my biggest reward and challenge was to be trusted with the leadership of Digital Arts Network Sydney (formerly Tequila) and help it grow to become one of Australia’s most successful digital agencies ( #1 Agency in AdNews Digital Rankings at the start of 2013 and winner of Campaign Asia Pacific digital agency of the year 2012 for Australia). Only a few months ago, I was equally put to the test when I was entrusted with championing digital integration on one of Australia’s largest and most sought-after advertising accounts at Tribal DDB.

Then, in 2014, something magic happened. Digital Fabriq, my blog, blossomed into a digital marketing consultancy. The two go hand in hand – like a match made in heaven.
